MA Show at City & Guilds of London Art School
This series of works stemmed from observations of light in the pedestrian roundabout at the IMAX, Waterloo. I was interested in the unique way in which the light enters the space, in the form of a pattern of swirling pools of light that move through the circular space. It is reminiscent of a sundial, and thus suggests both the movement of light across a space, and the passage of time through this movement.
Light in architectural spaces
These works were all completed during my Masters degree at City & Guilds. They constituted the core of my exploration of a painterly language that could evoke the behaviour of light in enclosed spaces in a mysterious way. Ultimately, they led to the body of work displayed in my MA show, showed above.
